(Paul Count Yorck von Wartenburg)
This is the story of the three sisters Adelheid (1884-1961), Olga (1885-1972) and Marie (1890-1973), Princesses zur Lippe. Christoph von Wolzogen opens up his archive and uses unpublished letters and a diary to document internal views of the past century as a "German story" of the paths and detours of three emancipating women of a former ruling house. This story is mythical due to the polyphonic revival of past times, which includes the inferno of the 20th century as well as its hopes. The emphasis is not so much on the collection of external events that make this story a reflection of a century, but rather on the "love of all thought that ever was" (J. Joyce). Long before Freud, the Brothers Grimm already knew that all storytelling is deeply rooted in abysmal reality, but gives it something that points beyond it.
The author Christoph von Wolzogen lives as an associate professor of philosophy and publicist in Frankfurt am Main. In 1989, he published the diaries of Schiller's brother-in-law, Wilhelm von Wolzogen, transcribed by Eva Berié and himself, in 2007 he published "Emmanuel Levinas - Denken bis zum Äußersten" with Alber Verlag, and in 2016 his biography of Schinkel "Unter dem bestirnten Himmel" with Edition Fichter. This work, which, following the example of Walter Benjamin, has "nothing to say, only to show", forms the third part of a historical trilogy.
